As we step into the new year, let’s take a moment to appreciate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Caribbean. One of the ways we can do this is by exploring the fascinating world of Caribbean folklore.
Mama D’leau, Mami Wata
These stories and beliefs have been passed down through generations and are an integral part of the Caribbean identity. I encourage all Caribbean writers to delve into the world of Caribbean folklore and draw inspiration from it. Read up on the different characters and stories that make up this rich tapestry of culture. You can also purchase books on Caribbean folklore to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.
In addition, I would like to introduce you to a new digital magazine called The Caribbean Pen. This magazine is dedicated to showcasing the best of Caribbean literature and culture.
Let’s make 2024 a year of creativity, inspiration, and cultural exploration. Happy writing!

This book contains real-life stories of the spread of the HIV epidemic. This is a journey past and present where I have seen people from all creed and race including good friends and relatives living and dead with HIV/AIDS.
When I first came across this unusual subject it was more than four decades ago, during my early teens. My next-door neighbor was terminally ill with copper pox poisoning. I remembered he offered the doctor the sum of ten thousand dollars in cash or any amount to get him better. The doctor told Ben he couldn’t help him.
